Let’s take a look at how transits have triggered events in his life.
He married Valerie Bertinelli on April 11, 1981. On this day Van Halen had transiting Jupiter in Virgo. Jupiter was sending its energy to his natal Mars ruler of his seventh house of relationships. He was in his Jupiter Maha Dasha which also can trigger a marriage. Transiting Rahu was sending its energy to his natal Venus which can indicate a marriage partner. It was also sending its energy to his natal Mars ruler of his seventh house. Transiting Saturn was in Virgo sending its energy to his natal Mars as well. With both Jupiter and Saturn sending their energy to the ruler of his seventh house of partnership it created a point of manifestation. Saturn can make a long-term relationship. Van Halen and Bertinelli were in fact married officially for 26 years.
On the day of his death, October 6, 2020 transiting Ketu, indicator of loss was conjunct the ruler of his first house. This represents who he is and his body. Transiting Ketu was also in Scorpio his second house which is a maraka house, or killer house. Transiting Mars was conjunct his natal Mars in his sixth house of health. Mars is a rough planet for Van Halen as it rules both maraka houses. So transiting Mars conjunct the natal Mars can indicate death. Transiting Ketu is also sending its energy to his natal Mars. Transiting Saturn was sending its energy to its first house and his natal Saturn. Saturn can indicate death. He was in his Mercury Maha Dasha and Jupiter Bhukti. His natal Jupiter and Mercury are in a 6/8 relationship which can be a hard time. As well Mercury rules his twelfth house of loss.
Eddie Van Halen was a legend that will not soon be forgotten and his spirit will live on through his music.
