Siegfried Fischbacher (of Siegfried and Roy Fame)

Siegfried Fischbacher was part of the duo Siegfried and Roy. Known as magicians and entertainers they were best know for their appearances with white lions and white tigers. Siegfried was born June 13, 1939 at 7:20 am in Rosenheim, Germany. His partner Roy Horn passed away just 8 months ago from complications of COVID-19. You can read about his life here. Siegfried passed away on January 13, 2021 from pancreatic cancer.

Let’s take a look at his life and the transits that triggered the events.

Siegfried’s ascendant is in Cancer. There are no planets located in his first house. We can see that the ruler of his first house goes to his tenth house of career indicating that career was the main focus throughout his life. There was a driving force for him to climb to the top of his chosen field. He was someone who was independent, self-sufficient and likely preferred working for himself. His ascendant was in the lunar mansion of Pushya indicating that he could be passionate about what he believed in and that he would come strongly to the defense of someone or something he believed in.

In his fourth house, Libra, is Rahu (one of the nodes of the Moon). This placement can indicate having success in foreign businesses or with foreign people. He had an acceptance and love of the unusual. And likely enjoyed unconventional, unusual or foreign dress and home decorations. He was someone who at times was likely to be overly optimistic but he was capable of fulfilling his dreams. Rahu is in the lunar mansion of Swati which can denote a businessman. He could excel in fields related to the arts. He was likely very psychic and intuitive but strove for independence. He was blessed with the art of communication.

In his seventh house, Capricorn, is Mars. Mars is exalted in Capricorn. This made him extremely intelligent and gave success in work through creating an independently owned business. He was goal oriented and a smart businessman. He was likely to be passionate about life and could act spontaneously or reflexively. This could have been hard on relationships for him making any partners he may have had more angry or combative in nature. He was someone who had high energy and wouldn’t let himself be defeated. He was hardworking and focused on results and respected. He could have been quick to anger. He had the ability to form good business contracts and agreements related to entertainment. Business partners would bring benefit to his career. He could likely talk to anybody about anything.

In his ninth house, Pisces, is Jupiter. He could be astute at handling people and was likely more spiritual. He had a positive outlook and strong intuition. He could be overly indulgent at times and was prone to tumors. World travel most likely opened his mind and heart giving him a new perspective on life. Jupiter is in the lunar mansion of Uttara Bhadrapada. He had the ability to control his anger and aggression. He may have loved periods of solitude and seclusion to recoup. He likely got profound insights and psychic hits. He could have a good problem-solving ability and could make money on his own. He was someone that was drawn to the unknown.

In his tenth house, Aries, are Moon, Saturn and Ketu. Moon in the tenth can indicate fame or recognition in his career. He could have an interest in visual activities. He was a self-starter and self-assured with a youthful disposition. He enjoyed traveling and moving around. Saturn would indicate career success coming from hard work, experience and discipline and a long-standing career coming from persistence and never giving up. He had steady growth in career and finances. He could be a misfit and drop out of school. He was someone who could push his objectives through oppositions. He likely found it hard to follow the norm. Ketu here can show an ability to adapt to changing circumstances. He was never someone who would want to be constrained to an office. This can also bring an unusual career. Unusual or sudden events could come up in life and could include changes and disruptions. He could be prone to illnesses that are difficult to diagnose. He has the ruler of his 8th house in his tenth house which indicates an interest in puzzles, magic and surprises. His career could have had periods of stagnation. He had the power to discover answers and to fix and change problems within business. Moon and Saturn are in the lunar mansion of Ashwini indicating his being a pioneer and having a zeal and zest for life. Ketu is in the lunar mansion of Bharani indicating that any struggles and obstacles he went through would result in personal breakthroughs and personal transformation. He may be the first to try to do something.

I want to point out that Siegfried’s Mars and Saturn are in parivartana, meaning they are in each other’s sign of rulership. They are also sambhanda meaning they are in mutual aspect as well to each other. This truly empowers both of these planets making them each as if they are in their own sign.

In his eleventh house, Taurus, are Venus and the Sun. Venus is in its own sign. Venus here can indicate that he had a grace and charm and that money can come through artistic enterprises. Sun here can indicate a desire to support humanitarian efforts near to his heart and a capacity to fulfill his desires. He was someone that stayed fixed in his purpose and was able to handle people well. He can be someone that had many opportunities in life. He has a dhana yoga with the ruler of the eleventh and second conjunct which is considered a wealth producing yoga. Money could come to him in large sums with plenty of opportunities and good breaks in life. Venus and the Sun in conjunction indicate he was skilled in the arts as an actor, artist or entertainer and that he could be good at promoting ideas. Venus in the lunar mansion of Krittika indicating he was likely very determined and tenacious in his desire to achieve. The Sun in Mrigashira may have made him restless, a traveler, someone constantly searching or looking for something.

In his twelfth house, Gemini, is Mercury. Mercury is in its own sign. He was someone who enjoyed travel and had an interest in other cultures. He was generous but could at times have a lack of self confidence in himself. He could be quick-witted, inventive, receptive to new ideas and potentially have a good sense of humor. This indicates someone whose efforts would be more successful outside his place of birth. He likely enjoyed helping the helpless.

At the time of his death, transiting Saturn – an indicator of death, was in his seventh house almost conjunct his exalted Mars. The seventh house is a maraka house, meaning killer house. Transiting Ketu was sending its energy to his first house of who he is and his physical body. Ketu was also sending its energy to his natal Sun by opposition within three degrees. The Sun rules the second house another maraka house. Transiting Uranus was within two degrees of his natal Ketu. This could indicate an unexpected loss given it is in the same house as the ruler of his first house, the Moon. When rotating the chart to read it based off the Moon in terms of transits both transiting Saturn and Ketu were sending their energy to the twelfth house, Pisces, and to the ruler of that house, Jupiter, which can indicate time spent in hospitals, isolation and even death. He was nearing the end of his Jupiter Maha Dasha which was being hit, as the ruler of the twelfth from the Moon in the twelfth, by transiting Saturn and Ketu.

Siegfried told Germany’s weekly Bild am Sonntag newspaper “that his best would always be by his side” upon the passing of Roy Horn. They can now continue their friendship on the others side. Rest in Peace Siegfried.
