Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift, a name that is known around the world, was born on December 13, 1989 at 5:17 am in Reading, Pennsylvania. There is another time of birth floating around of 8:36am but for this I am using the time of 5:17am. Taylor, who started pursuing country music at age 14 and who released her first album in October 2006, is currently in a battle over ownership of her music.

Let’s take a look and see what we can see in her chart. Remember I am using the birth time of 5:17am.

Taylor has a Scorpio Ascendant which makes Mars her ruling planet. Mars is actually in her first house within 2 degrees of her Ascendant making it all the more powerful. With this position it gives her a Ruchaka Yoga which indicates the highest manifestation of Mars qualities. She has a “try anything” attitude, a sharp mind, a strong warrior spirit and works hard. She is also courageous, self-motivated, resistant to aging, ambitious, independent and successful. With Mars in her first house it can make relationships difficult. We have seen in the media over the years her struggles in this area and have heard of it in her music as she has some excellent break-up songs. With the ruler of her first house in her first house it gives her a strong sense of purpose in life. She has her Sun in her first house as well and it rules her tenth house of career. This makes her an entrepreneur, trailblazer and very persistent when it comes to getting what she wants.

In her second house of Sagittarius she has Mercury and Saturn. Mercury in the second house gives her good writing and speaking abilities, a youthful face and can make her good with business (she seems to be doing pretty well if you want my opinion). This also indicates that she enjoys singing and music. Mercury rules her eleventh house of great gains and is in the second house giving a powerful connection of the two money houses. It also brings activities related to the voice. With Saturn in the second house Taylor can accumulate wealth over time, she works hard for the money, and she can get money from foreign countries (look at how many tours she has done overseas). Mercury and Saturn conjunct (next to) each other gives her a very focused mind and she has good business instincts and is skilled at planning.

In her third house Taylor has Venus and Rahu, one of the two nodes of the moon. Venus in the third house gives her a playful nature and good communication. It makes her good with marketing and sales as well as making her a creative writer. Rahu gives her the ability to make her own way in life and an interest in unique forms of communication and self-expression. She is a writer, musician, actor, salesperson. Rahu also gives her success and an ability to take risks. She could have delays in marriage. She has the talent to create spiritually uplifting art and music because the ruler of her 12th house in her 3rd house.

She has the Moon and Jupiter in her eighth house. The Moon in this position makes Taylor highly intuitive with a creative mind, fluent speech and charm. She can get support from others. It also means she has a side that longs to be loved. Moon also means she may appear superficial due to her quickness of thought but she is very bright. Jupiter in her eighth house may make her feel unsupported at times. Jupiter gives her good communication and writing skills, seen in her music. She celebrates life and has a good family. She has the potential for multiple marriages, but time will tell on that. With the ruler of her fifth house of dating in the eighth house it can give trouble in dating.

Taylor has Ketu in her ninth house giving her an adaptable perspective on life. She may have an up-and-down relationship with her father. She travels and may change residences frequently. She has the ability to read what is happening to others. Spiritual growth is likely to be important to her.

When we look at all of her albums they have been released under the Jupiter Maha Dasha which is activating her 2nd house and her eighth house. She is going within and bringing out the inner feelings through her music. For her first album, Taylor Swift, she was in the sub-dasha of Jupiter. It did well and started her career but it was the next album, Fearless, when she was in the sub-dasha of Saturn that she really took off. Saturn is in Taylor’s second house of speech and money. The album debuted at number one on Billboard 200 and was the top selling album of 2009. Her third album, Speak Now, was also released under the sub-dasha of Saturn. Her fourth album, 1989, was released under the sub-dasha of Venus. Venus activates her third house of writing and communication which connects to Saturn in her money house. For her fifth album, Reputation, she was in the sub-dasha of Moon. This was not as strong of an album as some of the others but it still did very well. Her sixth and most recent album, Lover, was released in the sub-dasha of Mars. This activates her first house and we are seeing her speak up for herself as Mars rules her first house.

When it comes to her current battle with her old record label she has good potential to overcome and win out. It will just take the time and fight. She is currently going through some good transits and now with Jupiter transiting her second house of money it will also begin to activate her natal Moon and Jupiter.

It will be interesting to see what she does with her career when she enters her Saturn Maha Dasha on June 13, 2022. Let’s keep an eye and Taylor and see what new levels she will go to.
