Bob Saget

Full House and Fuller House shows we loved with a dad we loved. Bob Saget had us laughing and crying. He was born on May 17, 1956 at 8:02 pm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997 and what some may not know is that he was the voice of narrator Ted Mosby on How I Met Your Mother from 2005-2014. He has been bringing laughs and smiles to us for years. He passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2022.

What I find fascinating is that as with Betty White, when I brought up his chart, I was amazed to see that he had a transiting planet exactly conjunct a natal planet. This is likely the trigger of his passing. Bob is a Scorpio ascendant and has his natal Saturn and natal Rahu in his first house. On January 9 transiting Ketu, one of the nodes of the Moon and an indicator of loss, was at 6 degrees 22 minutes exactly conjunct his natal Saturn at 6 degrees 27 minutes. Saturn is the ruler of his third house of life force which, was receiving the energy from Ketu, indicator of loss. He was also in what is called a nodal inversion. This is when transiting Ketu is conjunct natal Rahu and transiting Rahu is conjunct natal Ketu. This can be a period of change and readjustment. Transiting Rahu was in his seventh house a maraka, killer house conjunct his natal Sun, Ketu and Mercury. This can be a trigger point as Mercury rules his eighth house of death and is exactly conjunct his natal Ketu. With the transit of Rahu over this it could have been another trigger especially in the seventh house. Transiting Saturn was in his third house conjunct his natal Mars, ruler of his first house. Saturn can be an indicator of death and being conjunct the ruler of his first house, who he is, could be a trigger. Transiting Saturn was sending its energy to his twelfth house of loss on this day as well. He was in his Jupiter maha dasha and Mercury sub-dasha which made the transits over Mercury even stronger. Transiting Ketu was sending its energy to his natal Jupiter which rules his second house the other maraka house and being in his Jupiter maha dasha could have been another trigger.

Now let’s take a look at what his chart shows us about his life, talents and potential areas for growth.

His first house, Scorpio, has Saturn and the node of the Moon, Rahu. Saturn in the first can bring with it a strong sense of responsibility. It can indicate someone who was born an old soul. He may have felt responsible for everyone. He was someone who could lead and direct and would never let others down. People knew they could depend on Bob. He could be prone to worrying too much which could age him prematurely. He was someone who benefited from working by a schedule. He was someone who needed to watch his health as it could be depleted from overworking. Rahu in the first house gave him a life of intensity and one of fate and destiny. Rahu is an indicator of entertainers which he absolutely was. For him things may at times have seemed to happen out of the blue. Rahu can indicate someone who is larger than life and/ or who needs to watch their weight. He may have at times felt a lack of self-esteem or lacked a true sense of self especially in his younger years. Mars rules his first house and goes to his third house indicating that for him creative expression could come through communication. He could be humorous and have skills in writing. The third house is one of the houses for entertainers so this can be an indicator of that. Saturn rules his third house and is in his first house indicating that he was successful through his own efforts, as well as being courageous and energetic. He could benefit from acting, music and art. He may have gained confidence through difficulties. He could be prone to not always taking the best care of his own health. Saturn and Mars are in a strong yoga called parivartana. This is when they are in each other’s sign of rulership. This can make them act as if they are in their own signs making these two planets even stronger when transits hit either one of them. Saturn also rules his fourth house and in the first house indicates that his family likely instilled great values and respect when he was growing up. He may have had more of a sense of security and greater confidence with this placement which helped provide many successes in his life. Saturn and Rahu are in the lunar mansion Anuradha indicating someone who is outwardly buoyant and fun-loving. He was someone who benefited more by living away from his place of birth. He could work well in large groups of people and was someone who through friendly cooperation with others could gain recognition. He had a true gift in dealing with/ working with people.

In his third house, Capricorn, is Mars. Mars is at its strongest in Capricorn. His Mars is almost at its exact degree of exaltation. This can indicate someone who is able to act quickly and effectively. He could have high energy and be hardworking. He was someone who was respected. He could have a strong competitive drive. He could be a quick learner with strong skills of persuasion. Mars rules his sixth house and in the third house can indicate someone who is very determined. He could succeed through his effort alone. He could at times have had the potential to be impatient. He had a strong drive to overcome any obstacles that may have come across his path. Mars is in the lunar mansion Dhanishta. This indicates his ability to earn a good living. He could be a good conversationalist and enjoy music. He was someone who was motivated to accomplish things and develop in his career. He could have a knack for timing, constantly being at the right place at the right time. He could be someone, given this placement, who could gain fame and recognition.

In his seventh house, Taurus, are the node of the Moon, Ketu, Sun and Mercury. Sun in the seventh can indicate that he will be supportive of his partner. He could travel throughout his life. For him partnerships could strengthen his success. His partner could have been successful in their own right. He could handle people well. He was likely to enjoy music and literature. He had the ability to consider his options before taking action. He was someone who would stay fixed in his purpose. Mercury in the seventh house can indicate a partner who is fun and easy to be with because of their communication skills, intelligence and sense of humor. Bob likely wanted someone who had the ability to laugh when choosing his partner. He could be attracted to people younger or young at heart. He is someone who would respect the rules of engagement. He would need to have been careful as he could at times have been overly critical of his partner. He could be creative with good reasoning. He could have a very playful sense of humor. Ketu in the seventh house can indicate that he would feel better when he had the ability to help. He could have felt at times that there was this underlying sense of something missing from his relationships. This could indicate family happiness having ups and downs throughout life.

Venus rules his seventh house and goes to his eighth house. This can be a difficult placement for marriage and relationships. It can indicate people going through divorce. There would be a need to have learned about trust through relationships. It can indicate that his partner would bring money to the relationship. This is made stronger by the fact that the ruler of the eighth house, Mercury, is in the seventh house. This creates another parivartana yoga. It indicates as well the potential for separation and divorce. Mercury also rules his eleventh house and in his seventh house could indicate meeting his partner through friends. It could indicate that his relationships could start as friendships that blossom into more. He was someone who didn’t believe in the word “can’t” and was very inspiring. Sun rules his tenth house and in the seventh indicates potentially working with his spouse or meeting them through work or that they are in the same business. He could be an expert at relationships and diplomacy. He had the ability to talk to anybody about anything. Sun is in the lunar mansion of Krittika indicating his determination to achieve. He was passionate and ambitious. He could have a protective influence over those he loved. He was someone who would take pride in what he did. He may have been an excellent cook. He could rise to places of fame and prominence. Ketu and Mercury are in the lunar mansion Rohini. This could make him charismatic, a good communicator and listener. He likely had an inner strength and was oriented towards the truth. He may have helped others to grow. He may at times have been overly analytical.

In his eighth house, Gemini, is Venus. This can indicate that he was friendly, charming, fun-loving and respected. He could appreciate others. It could indicate that he would marry more than once in life. He could have had disappointments or betrayals around relationships. He could be very natural about love. He was supportive. He may have had a love of solitude to recharge his energy. Venus rules his twelfth house and, in the eighth, could indicate that he could have received money unexpectedly at times. He could be intuitive and insightful. He may have been curious about the secrets of life. He was someone who could be in touch with his feelings and emotions. Venus is in the lunar mansion Ardra indicating that he could be quick acting. He could have potentially had career ups and downs.

In his ninth house, Cancer, is Jupiter. Jupiter is very strong in Cancer. This could indicate that he was more spiritual in his approach to life. This can be a lucky placement and he could have had good teachers on his journey. He could have a comfortable life. He could have a good sense of humor, intuition and enjoy having fun. On the other hand, he could also have been overly sensitive. His Jupiter is at 29 degrees which is considered ghandanta. This can be a lot of energy and at times he may have been overwhelmed or felt like he was “drowning” in his own feelings and emotions. Jupiter rules his fifth house and in the ninth house indicates that there is a certain amount of luck he had in this life from past lives. Jupiter is in the lunar mansion of Ashlesha indicating him as a leader, clever and very versatile. He was someone who would put his energy into the things that interested him.

In his tenth house, Leo, is the Moon. This can indicate that he took pride in his work. He could be ambitious for recognition. He was inspiring and helpful. He could work in front of people. He could have a take charge attitude and may have had a love of nature. This can indicate that fame and recognition could come through his career. He may at times have been unsure of his life purpose or direction. The Moon rules his ninth house and in the tenth could indicate that there were fortunate circumstances and great opportunities involved with his career and reputation. He could be very supportive of others. The Moon is in the lunar mansion Purva Phalguni indicating someone who has the ability to communicate and influence others. Bob could be kind, generous and loyal. This lunar mansion can bring marriage. He would need to have been cautious not to build up debt. He could be generous and was likely seldom alone.

While I don’t usually use the outer planets, I do think it is worth noting that Neptune the planet that rules television and films is in his twelfth house of television and films.

Bob was someone who’s loss was felt deeply by those who worked with him and knew him and even those who only knew him through the television screen. He was taken too quickly and will be missed but not forgotten.

*Note: for the transits and calculations in the chart I used the true node calculations and the Lahiri Ayanamsha.
