What do a Crow and Deer have in Common?

I have recently had to deal with two different issues involving animals that were not anywhere in my realm of comfort. However, they did teach me more about myself and what I am actually capable of… (more in a little)

But first a little about the experiences:
I was minding my own business just taking the trash out to the container when I looked down and saw a massive dead crow. I mean this guy was BIG! Not exactly what you want to find or deal with first thing in the morning but I knew I was the one that had to deal. My Mom doesn’t handle stuff like that well. I went down and told my mom I would take care of it as soon as I got back from taking my pup to the vet (don’t worry just routine). So, like a responsible adult, I took gloves, a shovel, and a big trash bag to get rid of the crow. (I had talked to animal control and the vet, this was their recommendation on how to deal with it since crows don’t carry any diseases.) I successfully dealt with a situation outside my comfort zone, like way way-way outside. I knew I needed to look up the meaning of a dead crow. In classic Elizabeth fashion, I didn’t get to it.

Sooooo the Universe decided to test me again in an even bigger way. I could never have imagined its next test.

My friend was visiting me for the weekend, so my pup was out in the backyard (her favorite place to stay). You have to understand my dog doesn’t bark unless something is going on that’s major. I had gotten a text from my neighbor that she was barking up a storm. But I was driving at the time so couldn’t respond until I arrived home. They said she was chasing a deer around the big maple in the yard and they were going back and forth chasing each other. They managed to get her on to our back porch and lock her there until I arrived home. My other neighbor texted asking if I was ok because she was still barking up a storm on the porch. I had just arrived home at this point, and she seemed to calm down once I let her in and I went on my way. (I truly have great neighbors!)
The next day I needed to drive my friend to the airport to get their flight home. I thought nothing of the night before and figured the deer had moved on, so I put the pup out back to hang in the fantastic fall weather. When I got home she was entirely covered in mud, head to paw, bath required mud. It was too cold and wet to do it outside, so I brought her inside. Now I had a clean dog who wanted out to go to the bathroom, so I let her out but kept my eye on her (we didn’t need another bath!) She tried to go to this one spot so I ran to the side window to tell her no, and that’s when I stumbled upon it. A sweet doe on my side yard, she was trying to hide under some foliage. She was hard to miss. I could tell she was hurt because there is no other reason she would have stayed in place and you could see the pain in her eyes. Sadly, I had to call animal control (after completely freaking out), and they came to put her down. Which genuinely broke my heart. She was severely injured from getting hit by a car they believe – very common in my area.
Same as with the crow I had to deal with the deer incident but this time it was just me. It was a true test from the universe and a huge sign.

Again, I realized I now needed to look up the meaning of animals dying as this was my second incident in less than a month. When I looked it up, I found out it is all about transformation. This made total sense to me! Not only did it show me I have more courage than I often feel I do, but I’ve been feeling like something is changing for me ever so slowly and this says my intuition is correct.

While both these situations were stressful and hard, the deer was a real test of strength, and I made it through.
